The World As I See It and SEO Blogging

I love blogging, and The World As I See It is my blogging project. I'm constantly looking for ways to take my blogging to the next level, and from everything that I'm reading, optimizing with SEO is where my focus should be.

I try to follow advice from experts like John Chow and Darren Rowse, but I must admit, SEO is sometimes confusing to me. I trying witing blog posts on top[ics that interest me, and hopefully others who read my what I contribute. And I've had some wonderful feedback, but I feel that it's time to grow.

I don't pay much attention to key words, but I know I should.
This blogging thing really is a science.
Good idea to read what the experts are doing. But then, if everyone else is doing the same, how can you still stand out in the crowd?

I need to get the John Chow book, myself! ;)

I get very confused on the whole SEO thing so just write and write and hope it all works out. I need to be more diligent about this though.

It is very hard to even get in the habit. I am trying to learn better ways of using key words as well.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the way to go if you intend to build up your traffic effortlessly. SEO is more about planning what to write before you actually start to write. You need to target something for your current post. For example you wanted to target "SEO Blogging" for this post, then ensure it appears in your post title and when you write your post, sprinkle it in within the content of your post.

You also need to optimize your whole blog. For example, your blog title "The World As I See It" is not really optimized. The search engines would not be able to figure out what your blog is about.

To conclude, if you concentrate on just one particular niche in your blog, you would automatically optimize your blog. The problem arises only when you try to write about every topic in the world.

Hope it gives some idea about SEO. Thanks.

Thanks for a clarification Widgets. I usually try to prepare a well constructed post, but I haven't focused on SEO. I started this blog simply to talk about things that were on my mind, so there hasn't been a real niche.
