Singer Isaac Hayes Dies Suddenly At His Memphis Home

The entertainment industry was rocked on Sunday by another unexpected death. Singer, sonwriter Isaac Hayes died today at a Memphis area hospital after being found unconscious at his home by family members. His death came one day after the surprise death of comedian Bernie Mac, who died yesterday from complications of pneumonia. Hayes is thought to have died from a stroke.

Hayes’ career spanned nearly 50 years, but is best know for winning an Academy Award for his monumental work in producing the soundtrack for the Gordon Parks film, “Shaft”. He won the award for Best Original Song, becoming the frist African American to win an oscar in an non-acting catagory, and only the fourth African American to ever be honored by the academy. The Passing Of A Comedy Giant: Bernie Mac Dies At 50

The entire entertainment community is mourning the surprise death of commedain and actor Bernie Mac, who passed away Saturday morning in a Chicago Hospital. Mac died from complications from pneumonia, for which he entered the hospital only a few days ago.

Mac has been known throughout his career for bringing humor to real life situations. Much of his comedy was drawn from personal experiences, and though he told his jokes from the perspective of a Black man, he had gained tremendous mainstream appeal in recent years.
