Online Retailers Gear up For 'Cyber Monday'

Everyone knows that 'Black Friday', the day after Thanksgiving, has traditionally been the biggest shopping day of the year. But over recent years, 'Cyber Monday' has increasingly become the day that online retailers look forward to.

'Cyber Monday' is the first Monday after Thanksgiving, and has quickly evolved into the biggest cyber shopping day of the year, closely catching up to 'Black Friday' in total sales volume.

This year, retailers are preparing themselves for what may possibly be the biggest online shopping day ever, by beefing up inventory and delivery services. They are also offering deals that can not be found in their birck and mortar locations to entice more shoppers to shop online.

Many retailers now see that excessive 'Black Friday' crowds deter many shoppers from leaving home on that day. And with a struggling economy, many people would rather just do their holiday shopping from the comfort of their homes.

Walmart, K-Mart, Sears, and Target are just a few of the brick and mortars who are offering extra incentives to shop online. Traditional online retailers such as Amazon.com and Overstock.com are also increasing their online presence.
